Production Engineering Technician

Job Summary

Production Tech is responsible for ensuring production reporting is done in a timely and compliant fashion as to provide value to Caerus.  Diagnosing and evaluating downtime and working with Production Engineers and field staff to optimize production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and validating gas measurement volumes reported.
  • Monitoring and validating oil measurement volumes reported.
  • Work with field personnel on resolving measurement issues.
  • Provide accounting monthly production volumes.
  • File and scan measurement related documents.
  • Invoice coding verification for lease operating expenses.
  • Provide information related to the services provided for filing reports, applications or other filings with any governmental authority exercising control over the lease and wells.
  • Ensure lease operators are properly reporting well downtime for compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Ensure production volume reporting is being done timely and correctly.
  • Conduct all operations in a responsible workmanlike manner consistent with sound operating practices and understand the detailed means, manner and method of performing the Essential Duties.
  • Communicate and coordinate with oil purchasers to promote acceptance of wellhead liquids in a timely manner to minimize stock tank inventory.
  • Comply with all company policies, environmental laws and regulations and all other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure that lease operators are maintaining seals and seal logs on all tanks.
  • Report month-end oil inventory on first business day of following month.
  • Other duties as directed by the area Operations Engineer.
  • Work professionally and respectfully all others at all times while representing Caerus Oil and Gas, LLC.



  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferred

Specialized knowledge

  • ProdView experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with good working knowledge of all oil and gas operations
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal production reporting laws.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to use the Internet/E-mail
  • High level of personal integrity and moral character
  • Self-discipline and strong work ethic
  • Strong leadership ability

Industry Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in oil and gas production operations
